Story and Art

Hi! I'm DCS! A queer game developer with a love for heavily character driven stories.

Lee is a character I've had for quite a while now and I've always been very interested in immortalizing his backstory in some way-- so I made this little game! He's a very different person after this point, so I hope you'll enjoy the youthful Lee while you can. Thanks for playing and I hope you'll join Lee with all his future misadventures!

This was a great way to learn a bit more about Lee and still keep him mysterious. The story is extremely engaging and the ending leaves plenty of questions for me, like SPOILERS: how much is the curse and how much is Lee? Would he have grown up normal like everyone else if it wasn't feeding off of his greed? It's a very inspired backstory...

...oh, and the artwork slaps, of course. Dayum, you make me jealous as fuck with your art skills. I also appreciate small touches like SPOILERS: we don't see the mother until she pulls Lee aside, makes her scene a lot more impactful considering that's the only time we see her.

Thanks so much for your comment! I'm glad you liked this part of the story-- because for a while, I actually thought about taking it down to keep Lee *more* mysterious-- but I felt that would be a waste of my effort, and that folks might like to know about him.

The question about where Lee ends and where his illness begins is something that is asked a lot and explored a ton in future installments-- so I don't wanna comment too much on this-- but it's a good thing to be asking!

I'm glad you like the art-- cuz this game is old now! It's going to be wild to see how much my art jumps between part 1 and part 2 of the games, but I think people will enjoy it. Thanks for checking this game out in the meantime-- I'm currently working on a VERY BIG GAME that has to be done before I focus on Lee again, but once I focus on Lee, I'm hoping to finish the next 3 parts back to back.

Thanks again!

You're welcome! I left a review of the full game on Steam, I loved it and I think playing the prologue first benefited me plenty so I'm extremely glad you didn't take it down, I even bought the art for both games, there's no chance I won't draw Lee in the near future so let me know where I should send fan art or speed draws.

Oh, THANK YOU! Reviews on Steam are UBER helpful, I really appreciate that!

In the future, I think I'm gonna include the prologue as part of part 1, it's just a matter of me getting some other things in order first (mainly, translations) so that folks can enjoy both things at once-- I'll keep this page up, but unlisted.

ALSO OOOH yes if you make fan art of Lee, I'd love to see it! You can @ me on Twitter @darkchibishadow if you like or even just share here (or, colinxzain@hotmail.com also works, if you prefer privacy) ^^ no pressure tho!

Amazing! I loved learning a little more about Lee! Such interesting characters!!

I have read the entire prologue, and I love it!

I fully understand Lee's point of view and also his family's point of view, and honestly it doesn't surprise me that Lee has chosen the "demon" at the end (Although to be honest, we don't know if he had the option to refuse), his Family has unconsciously cornered him to that position.

This has reminded me a lot of cases such as homosexuality or transsexuality or religion (Simply that one person believes or feels something different from their family) in a family that loves their children but doesn't understand them, and they think it is a "phase" or "they try to get their attention" or they aren't "mature" enough, and the worst part is that they believe that with their actions they are "helping" them.

Honestly, I don't think it's a good idea for the devil to have Lee under his spell, nor do I think the devil was the only way for Lee to run away from his house, but his family made him believe otherwise, and it's clear that his family can't help Lee with the devil (Honestly, they are hypocrites, bragging about tradition and family love, but when something serious happens to Lee, they leave him).

I have already started playing One-Eyed Lee and the Dinner Party (I'm not done yet, I'm going to need a guide or something), I want to see Lee's future, I wish him good fortune.
P.D .: Will there be romance in the future?

Hi there! Thanks so so much for your thoughtful comment, I super appreciate it!

Lee's family dynamic is very, very complex. I think you hit a lot of stuff spot on and some stuff I think you may have different thoughts on as the series goes on. ;)c All I can really say is that, we will be learning a lot about Lee as the game goes on, and we haven't seen the last of his family either! I don't wanna say more than that and spoil anything though.

As for romance? Hmm, I wonder? ;Dc That's another thing I'm not gonna go too deeply into right now. This series of games is very emotional, and I don't want to give out too much and spoil some reveals! Forgive me for being tight lipped, usually I'm way more open about the future of a series -- but just this once, I want stuff to be a surprise!

Thanks again for your wonderful comment and I really hoped you enjoy Dinner Party! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it, and if you need help with a specific puzzle, feel free to ask me. Have an awesome day!

Now you have given me much more desire to know what will happen in the future!

And even if there was no romance (which you haven't affirmed or denied, so I can still hope), I have already fallen in love with the story and the characters, so I can't escape even if I wanted to.

P.D .: I would like that Lee could reconcile with his family, he gave me the impression that he was sad and frustrated that his family didn't understand him.

I'm excited you're excited for the future! I think people who like these first two installments will have a lot to look forward to.

And again, I can't say too much -- just that I'm excited to eventually bring the next game to you! I plan to start work on it in 2021. (I need time to work on other games in the meantime.)

Giving up your past to pursue the mysterious future, I wonder how much our little Lee will change. I really hope its for the better, but of course bad things will creep up ;u; aaaa i definitely want to play the next part once I can!

Thanks for checking out the prologue! Thankfully the next part is already out, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it! <3
